I'm thinking laptop with the idea I can hook it up to a bigger monitor if I want.

I've seen mention of an update to RM:ME. How do I get the update? I've had a couple problems, too, so I'm hoping the update will help.

If you have the Steam version, Steam will get the update for you, next time you go online with the Steam client. I don't know how you get the GOG update.

Yes, I use Steam. I didn't know it automatically loaded the update. The first time I used realMyst from Steam, the new Cyan logo open played. But ever since, I have been getting a blue screen with just the music playing, no logo animation.

Oh deer, what video card and OS do you have? Also make sure you have the latest drivers.

I recently upgraded my motherboard and CPU and running just the video on an i3-3220. It has Radeon 2400 in it. I wanted to see how it performed before spending a bunch of cash on a new card. The game plays ok, but def need a new card.

I just installed an Nvidia GTX 750 TI in my desktop and it has made a world of difference. I don't get quite the frame rate Tomala does, but the game automatically maxed out my settings, and it runs smoothly with frame rates from the 20s to the 50s. I still have the i7 3770 processor, but obviously the Radeon HD 7750 I had was holding it back. One advantage of this Nvidia card is that it does not take a lot of power, and will run on the usual off-the-shelf machine's weak power supply.
