Hello everyone, and welcome to the new Cyan forums! This has been a great project to work on and we’re excited that we can finally release this to the public. Although mystonline.com had been our “main” forums for the past several years, we decided that it was time to keep mystonline.com dedicated to Myst Online: Uru Live discussion only. These new Cyan forums will open up discussion about all Cyan games (with the exception of Myst Online: Uru Live discussion).
As some of you might be aware, users between these forums (the Cyan forums) and the mystonline.com forums will be shared. This means that you can log in to these new forums with your mystonline.com account and vice-versa. So, for those of you who have been long-time members of mystonline.com, do not fret! Your username/account can be used to access these new forums.
Although we have synchronized accounts across forums, there were some things that we needed to keep separate to each forum that apply to your usage. Here is a list of things that are shared or not shared between forums on your account:
Shared (things that carry over across forums):
- Login information (username, password, email)
- Registration date
- Color (if you’re in a group that has a color, this applies to you)
- Aim, ICQ, YIM, MSNM, Jabber, etc.
- Personal website
- Groups & user groups
- Banlists (if you’re banned on one forum, you’re banned on the other)
- Disallowed usernames
Not shared (things that are not carried over across forums):
- Messages & message settings
- Permissions (like permissions to access certain parts of forums)
- Posts, post settings, recent posts, etc.
- Forum subscriptions
- Friends & foes
Please note that bans and warnings between forums are shared. That means that if you get warned or banned on one forum, it will carry over to the other. Also note that groups are shared between forums, so if you have already joined the explorers group on one forum to post, you do not have to rejoin the explorers group on the other forum.
Integrating the forums wasn’t an easy process, but it is well worth the convenience for users who use/plan on using both the mystonline.com and Cyan forums. With that being said, there is a possibility that we may come across some functionality issues across forums. If you discover an issue with the forums, please email the webmaster (this email is located on the “contact” section of the Cyan website) with the subject line “Forum functionality issue”.
Thank you all so much for your support throughout the years, and continued support as we grow! This is only just the beginning of some new and exciting things we have for you
