Awesome news: https://twitter.com/cyanworlds/status/4 ... 7591209984
"Real Myst Masterpiece has gone gold! It will be available on Steam very soon. #Gold #RMM #AwesomeJobTeam"

I'm hoping there will be a DRM-free release also (Humble Store or GOG.com; preferably Humble since they support Linux and have Steam keys). A game like this is too important to be tied up in Steam. If it only comes out on Steam, I'll have a dilemma (buy immediately on Steam, or wait and see if a DRM-free version comes out).

I was looking on the Cyan.com website for mention of realMyst Masterpiece Edition and didn't find any on the Games/realMyst page. I did just find a blurb on the News page, but that's the last place I looked, of course. It would be great for folks to find something on the realMyst or home page, along with Obduction, to create anticipation. I know there's something on Facebook, but the website is Cyan's real face to the world.

Really hope the masterpiece edition is out soon! I've been checking steam constantly to see if it's up!

JWPlatt: I think they'll update the website when the game is actually released. Not really much point in saying "it's coming ... soon" when it isn't out yet.

darn, I've been checking the @CyanWorlds Twitter and Steam store every couple of hours for 5 days now :). When is it coming? (I wonder if the ball is now in Valve's court and Cyan has no power to expedite the process?)

Since you don't seem to know, Valve is one of the most successful game companies in the industry, they created the Half-Life series, Portal, Team Fortress 2, etc. They also own and run Steam.

And right now we're waiting on them to do their part in releasing RealMyst: Masterpiece Edition on Steam.

Re: Valve: Now I know. I have only been involved with two "Games", the Myst/URU series (By far my favorite) and Second LIfe. So thanks.

Also, since I really don't want to become a customer of Steam, can you tell me if this release will be downloadable or purchasable as a CD?

I don't know what the official word is but I imagine they will release it at some stage on gog.com. Good Old Games already has the other Cyan games, and they are all DRM free - ie you can just download the exe file and burn it to a CD or whatever.

Aww, man! At first I thought RealMyst: Masterpiece Edition was released when I first saw the "Coming Soon" on the main page.

Just seen the new batch of screen shots on the product page and It looks beautiful. I am very much looking forward to revisiting after all these years :)

Wow, Selenitic looks nice. What I want to see most is K'veer. I wonder if Rand will actually be there or if there will just be another character model.

The only thing that concerns me is that comparing the image of Myst to the one released in September, it looks like there has been no graphical improvement. I hope this isn't the same for Mechanical which looked very unfinished back in September.
