Oh I'm getting this too, I thought it was just my computer though. It's like it's loading without showing it. Hmm hopefully Cyan will fix this soon.

Has anyone been able to buy this on the App Store? There's a link on the website, but I keep getting 'The item you've requested is not currently available' messages.

A few people probably managed it on Tuesday morning. It's been gone since then.

I downloaded it from the Mac App Store Tuesday morning and noticed the issue. Cyan support says the fix was submitted Tuesday, and they expect the Apple review process to be quick. (My guess: it could be back up later today or tomorrow.)

Downloaded and tried this last night on my Dell XPS 15z laptop with an NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M graphics card.

The main issue I have - and I don't quite know how to word this - is that there is bizarre shadow movement in places where no shadows should be moving. And the movement is very squiggly and unnatural. I've tried every possible setting - from every enhancement turned off, to every enhancement turned on - and nothing eliminates the weirdness.

I'm sure it has to do with the day/night cycle on Myst Island - that's the only Age I've checked out so far.

Anyone seeing the same thing, or am I just the lucky 1 in 100,000 that gets to experience the weirdness?

What *was* the issue? Inquiring bloggers want to know.

(I've seen *an* issue on the Mac Steam release, but I don't know if it's the same one.)

is that there is bizarre shadow movement in places where no shadows should be moving. And the movement is very squiggly and unnatural.

I see the same thing. I think that's just the way dynamic shadows are in Unity.

The shadows *are* moving, because the sun (and moon) have a steady movement across the sky. The result is unfortunately very "crawly". (I haven't messed with the game's video settings at all.)

Pressing ESC didn't bring up the menu. And at least in my particular case, that pretty much ended the game session at that point.

I went off to eat supper and came back an hour later to where I left off in Rime and I could barely move. The lag was so bad. It'll play fine for about 45 minutes before it starts to get slow.

I turned off motion blur and, vertical sync, bloom and blur effect and it runs a little better. The game looks better without them IMO. Never liked bloom in any game.

What?!?! But it's BLOOM!

Okay, I found something really weird. If I'm moving around, or holding the left mouse button down, the game runs fine, but if I'm standing still, or looking around with the right mouse button, the FPS drop. I tested it out in both Stoneship and Rime, and the snow/rain was really skippy, but if I started moving, or just held the left mouse button, everyhting moving became smooth, until it stopped, and I lost FPS again. Really weird.

Is they a way to get Cyan to look at this thread or do we all need to submit support tickets. :( Hopfully when the release obduction it won't be this buggy or else I may not buy a copy.

EDIT: Speaking of Cyan employers reading this thread, I wonder what Roybin Miller thinks about the game.

Two items for realMyst on Steam:

1. The "Cyan Complete Pack" bundle ought to include realMyst Masterpiece Edition to be "complete," perhaps at a modified price.

2. realMyst lists a feature as "Auto-save to insure [sic] you pick up where you left off." The word "Insure" should be "ensure" - a common error. Unless you're actually purchasing an insurance policy. ;)

Glad to see it out. It's a guaranteed sale to our household.
