This is a thread where you can share Kickstarters. I wanted to share a kickstarter, but I didn't want to create a thread about just that one thing. So, I decided to just make this.
I wanted to share Tadpole Treble by Matthew Taranto. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/437 ... ole-treble It's a musical game where the musical notes of the sheet music are the levels' actual layout. Also, Matthew Taranto is an awesome guy who writes Brawl in the Family, a parody web comic about Nintendo characters. I just wanted to spread the word about this Kickstarter, and I hope you guys will do the same here in this thread.
For adventure game fans who remember Ancient Egyptian-themed puzzler Riddle of the Sphinx, the creators are Kickstarting a 15th Anniversary Remake in real-time 3D. Base goal is $50,000, which funds the first "Chapter" of the game, with $200,000 funding the entire game at once.
Either way, though, the creators have said the entire game *is* getting remade, just at a slower pace if $200,000 isn't got in one go.
Trekkies (like me) will love the Kickstarter video. Parents (like me) will love the cause. The update video where they show reaction in real time as they reach and pass funded status is very touching. As I commented after the first article, what a great thing LeVar Burton has been doing. It is well worth the contribution if you have something to give.
The Reading Rainbow Kickstarter is about to go has gone over $5,000,000 with 16 hours to go and a record 100,506 100,716 backers so far. It "is now one of the top five Kickstarter projects of all time, behind Pebble (an e-Paper watch), OUYA (a video game console), Pono Music, and the Veronica Mars Movie Project."
Seth McFarland is matching all donations up to $1,000,000 over the $4,000,000 mark.
There's a revived Bolt Riley Kickstarter running: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/so ... -chapter-1 This was set up as a very short campaign and there's not much time left. If you remember, Bolt Riley helped promote Obduction during our own favorite KS, and could really use the help.
I've gotten to run around in some alpha playtesting, and it really is gorgeous, and focused on creative storytelling and writing while exploring fantastical worlds. There's a D'nerd on the crew (our own Taniith), and it shows
Storyteller, Creatrix, and maker of general mayhem Mysterium ConCom, FMG Secretary Unwritten RPG: http://www.unwrittenrpg.com/ KI#00001498 Officially bonked R.E.B.E.L.
The game I most anticipate after Obduction is Armikrog, by the same creator and core talent as The Neverhood. The Armikrog Kickstarter was successfully funded and is also scheduled for release this year. It will be using the same animation, modeling and clay style of The Neverhood, but it is not a sequel. You could call it a "spiritual successor."
