With my income i can not get a creditcard.
The RABO-basecard (debitcard) will cost me 16.20 Euro per year for thee years.
The total cost is therefore 48.60 Euro (65.60 USD)

I would need one because paypal does not allow other means of payment.(i do not need one for anything else)

(from Paypal.nl)

Here are the numbers:
75.00 USD for the box (minimal)
15.00 USD shipping fee
1.35 USD exchangerate surcharge 1.5%
65.74 USD Debitcard
------
157.09 USD total

That is indeed cheaper but still unreasonable.

Erik just told you that PayPal DOES accept other means of payment, namely the direct transfer from your bank account. Is there some reason that this won't work for you? If you are having trouble making it work, perhaps you should PM him and ask exactly how he set it up, since he has apparently done it successfully.

@tommyap, in your first picture, unselect the checkbox in front of "Koppel mijn creditcard zodat ik meteen kan winkelen".
Then you will be able to create a Paypal account without a credit card.

After your Paypal account has been created, you can add your bank account as a payment method.

How to add your bank account is mentioned on the Dutch help pages.

Great to see you guys figured it out. I found it strange that you couldn't get the bank account option before but it seems you can do it after all.

Also I just got an email reply from Tony at Cyan confirming that you can donate via PayPal in multiple installments and they will collate them into one. Good for working towards one of the more expensive tiers. I am working towards the Easter egg tier.

Hey ljbade,

Thanks for passing on that information from the Fryman! Since the Obduction Paypal information only shows tiers up to the $250 one, I had assumed that the higher tiers were no longer available... So I am thrilled that I can work toward an Easter Egg too! :D

I actually don't think you can work towards the Easter Egg tier, because there's no way to see how many slots are still left. The tier was limited to 60 backers and I'm sure the limit was there for a reason, such as not to spoil the immersion of the game with an abundance of easter eggs.
The highest tier mentioned on http://obductiongame.com/paypal.html is $250. That doesn't prevent you from donating more, but I don't think you would get the extra rewards from the more exclusive tiers.

Erik,

I think that is precisely why they didn't list the limited slot tiers on PayPal as they cannot not automatically update the page when a tier is full.

So basically you can go for the higher tiers, but you are at your own risk as far as whether you might miss out or not. However if you are reasonably quick I'm sure the easter eggs will be available for a while (there were 23 left at the end of the Kickstarter).

New update #29: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/cya ... sts/670755

I am not sure if I am allowed to copy the whoel update here as it is marked "backers only", but here are the main points:
[*]Latest figures: Kickstarter - $1,267,728.14, PayPal - $31,356, for a grand total so far of $1,299,084.14. (The Kickstarter number is lower because of uncollected pledges - it’s possible that more will be collected.)
[*]PayPal funding for 1.7m stretch goal is open until 28 February
[*]The 'Kickstarter exclusive' features will be available during the PayPal funding period.
[*]There are more updates to come on obductiongame.com including a regulary updated funding total
[*]The backer forums are coming soon.

So we need to get more people to push into PayPal funding to regain the lost 54k from Kickstarter failed payments.

So if you get more money between now and 28 Feb - seriously consider upgrading your pledge - you know you want the art book!

Also to clarify the multiple payments on PayPal and Kickstarter, this was the email I got from Tony a few days ago:
Hi Leith,

It is ok to donate in separate payments. It will be incumbent on Cyan to identify your numerous payments and combine them to achieve your Easte Egg level but we should be able to accomplish this.

Thank you so much for your support!

Tony

So I am confident they are going to combine Kickstarter and PayPal payments.
