Working on the railroad

Just an observation. Something really bugged me about the railroad yard when I first played the game then it finally hit me: the hardware itself. Notice that the front of the engine has buffers and those are not something one would expect to find at a what strikes me at an attempt at depicting a rustic US railroad scene. No coupling either. Similarly, the freight cars (or carriages if you prefer) have no couplings at all and no apparent way to attach them. Very difficult to form up a train unless it was pushed rather than pulled (and even then it would be pretty much impossible to round a curve for lack of clearance). Guess you can't cover every eventuality when designing in a hurry.

There, got that off of my chest...
