I've been playing Obduction on my PC but now that the Mac version is working well, I'd like to switch to the Mac. Can I save progress on the PC version and then open it from the Mac? I'm using Steam btw.

Thx

Try it; copy the "saved Games" files from your PC to a flash drive and then to your Mac's /Users/yourname/(Option) Go Library/Application Support/Epic/Obduction/Saved/Savegame. Hopefully that will work, but don't be surprised if it doesn't. Windows saved games are not usually interchangeable with apps written for the Mac, although there is some compatibility now that both use Intel cpus.

Actually, if you have been playing using Steam, maybe they could help. But only Cyan knows for sure...!

I've played Obduction on my wife's Windows 7 PC and also on both of my "Hackintoshes." But I've never tried transferring a saved game like you want to do.

It may well work, as the saved game file is in a common database format and probably portable across platforms.

Thanks folks. Yes it does work. You can transfer the saved games folder from PC to Mac, or even a single saved game subfolder, and open and play. It turns out there are instructions in the Obduction faq on Steam. I havent tried the reverse transfer, but i assume it will work too
