I'm too stupid to think of anything, anyone else have some guesses?! Feels like this thing, whatever it is, is starting to come together. I hope we get an announcement soon!

Speculation: Someone hasn't bought a screen protector yet, so their phone is in a ziplock bag, hence the unusual glare

Given that Eric chose to put the word FARTHER in cyan (the color), I'd say this is related to Cyan's new project. No reason Eric can't be working on The Witness and doing some Cyan work at the same time.

Wait, are we supposed to be speculating on the upcoming realMYST for PC and Mac or something else?

I'm speculating about something else. realMyst for PC and Mac is already Rand Miller-confirmed.

I tried cyan.com/farther, just to be sure. Nope.

I'm wondering if any Cyantists on Twitter have posted anything to help us. Anybody know who from Cyan is on Twitter?

messing around with the image in photoshop is showing me pretty much nothing and no metadata either. If there is anything its not going to be found through technical means.

Smart move. Though I think that image has more to it if you start to "google" over it...

Wow! a puzzle! *shakes the cobwebs out* haven't seen one of them in a while. :)

Greydragon mentioned Montana... Anything significant there?

Well you are barking up the wrong tree thinking it has to do with Starry Expanse... Love those guys, love that project, but we are working on our own thing.

However Montana has some nice trees, ever think of looking over there?

to me seems interestingly worded....

Edit: "...the world outside, which my brother and I soon discovered was full of burgers, the number increasing rapidly the farther one gets from Missoula, Montana." a line from Norman Maclean's A River Runs Through It, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_River_Ru ... 28novel%29

Montana, trees, farther. (clutching at straws?)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Forests_in_Montana ?

Also lightened it up a little less harshly that might have been done previously just for comparison

Is there perhaps something going on in the FB image itself? The colors almost appear to be inverted (although they don't quite make sense inverted from what's shown either) but I am not a photoshop expert. Perhaps something with a color filter or something that might reveal some hidden thingy? I am probably reading too much into it... They have done some pretty sneaky things in the past though!

One more hint... Wrong Image

Eric replied in this thread, which one would could deduce he would be talking about the image he made on the Cyan page. I'm getting this out of the way cause you are rusty and we haven't played this game in awhile. No more hints... Let the game begin!

well the meta data is blank to start with

quotes that look like they matter:

"...I have tried to speculate where it might have landed, and I must admit however, such conjecture is futile..." -opening voice over to myst
"The stone is hard. But the drill is patient."
"We write, we control ourselves, we are seen." (BoD p819)
[next one i think is a joke]
"The water flows...my socks are soggy" - Ancient D'ni Proverb. (possible joke)

tried to get rid of some of the overpowering blues in the image
