Are you guys sure we need numerals to solve doors & bridges in Maray?

And what do you mean by:
Tahgtahv wrote:Other than that, it pretty much works like the doors, where you get: empty, bone, forcefield, solid.

I went back to my videos and took screenshoots of my solutions just before hitting the "Process" button at the top of the Villein panel for both a door and a bridge

Here's my solution for a door (universal):

What's the number here? It's neither 0, 1, 2, or 3 ...

Here's my solution for a bridge (universal except last bridge where I start by building last section then I do this solution):

Where are the numbers on that solution? There's no 0, 1, 2, 3, ..., 64, ..., or 256 ...

Presumably the autocorrect system changed your entries into valid numbers.

For the bridges, each segment corresponds to a bridge piece. Other than that, it pretty much works like the doors, where you get: empty, bone, forcefield, solid. Either of the latter two can be walked on, making the bridges one of the easiest puzzles in the game.

When I put it in on the gas station machine (push the button on top to see the number), I got 1017 as well.

Maybe it is a different number without the bottom dot?

Oh, I wasn't in game. I was just using a normal calculator and ended up doing 3 * (16 + 32 + 64) + 9, instead of 3 * (16 + 64 + 256) + 9. DOH!

That will be auto corrected to 0. Actually, it's probably the fastest way to change a 3 into a 0 since deleting the connecting lines is so fiddly :)

Not sure what your bridge solution would be corrected to, but since those non-digits are maybe closest to 3s, that may well be what you get.

Erm no? It doesn't work that way at all. Count how many lines are around a dot, that's what the number is. It's as simple as that. That particular image would work out to be 22222, which is a perfectly fine bridge. (In fact, any combination of 2 or 3 for each bridge section is fine, meaning 100,000/1,048,576 or 9.5% of all possible random drawings make an acceptable bridge)

Ah, that makes so much sense. I hadn't taken the time to explore what the autocorrect actually did other than observing the '+' goes to '0' behaviour (yes, I know I've mixed my number forms there ;))

One other thing I had seen rumored was that entering a 4 carried to the next digit, but I just double-checked in game and this is not the case.

So to follow your thoughts, I'm entering 22222? I though 2 was done in angle. So there could be different shapes for the same number...

Yes, there are multiple shapes that will lead to the same number, because of the "self-correcting" nature of the system. But not all numbers necessarily have multiple shapes (at least, this has not been proven).

I explained the bridges and a super easy way to understand the numbers in my earlier post. I guess I didn't need to use so many Spoiler tags? :)

There's only 16 combinations, so it's pretty easy to see all numbers have multiple forms. 0 has 2, 1 and 3 have 4 each, and 2 has 6.
