turntable in Maray

Postby astromjr9 » Thu Jan 05, 2017 6:34 am

Ok here I am in Maray at the large stone turntable with 4 rotating discs within it. I have spun all of these so many multable times I've made myself dizzy. I see there are 3 different openings on the turntable but I still can't make a complete pathway to any of them. I did find the note on the blue plastic chair with diagrams on it but haven't been able to decipher it. What would you suggest would be my next move??

Take the elevator down as far as it goes and look around...

I forgot to mention that I have discovered the lower level transporter going back and forth to Hunrath rotating the 4 different circles many many times! I don't see anything else on that level of any use. What next??

Are you sure there are 4 pieces? You should also throughly explore the Hunrath site.

Think about what it means to "swap" something.

Hopefully not a spoiler:

My problem was for a long time believing that the lowest level of the elevator opened on a swap machine that was a fixed part of the building it was in. Not true.

I have explored the tunnel system in Hunrath and know there are 3 transporters in a row that transport back to Maray to the 3 in a row in the dome. I have tried several combinations transporting them separately and then looking at the turntable with the 4 rotating discs and nothing seems to change. I'm guessing I need to swap parts of the walkways in order to get across to the other side but I'm not achieving that. Is there something else I need to other than just the swaping transporters?

Those 3 transporters really have nothing to do with the turntable, but they can help you figure this out. (Just use the smaller ones. Leave the middle transporter/large swap area alone.)

What I suggest is this:
  • Go to the Maray turntable and note what's there (the 4 rotating discs you mentioned).
  • Use the lower level transporter you say you found (by taking the small elevator/lift all the way down) to travel to Hunrath.
  • Instead of using that transporter to travel from Hunrath back to Maray, use one of the smaller transporters of the 3 transporters you mentioned above.
  • Go view the turntable again.

Well I mastered the turntable and much more! I have been to the crash site, zapped the alien, the the deadly thing that we were warned to stay away from. I have watered the 3rd tree. One in each Hunrath, Kapter, and Maray. I noticed that down inside the trees one passage way is blocked with a red film. Is there a 4th tree somewhere? The Mayer said to come back after I water the trees. I do so and he didn't answer the bell at the window. I'm kind of floundering around wondering what to look for next.

Yes, there is a fourth tree.

A bit of a more direct hint:
[Reveal] Spoiler:
There's probably one area of Hunrath you haven't been to. An area you saw right from the beginning, but couldn't see a way to. I'd see if you can't figure a way over there now. Take a good look around and see if you find anything.

I cannot complete this maze and what I have read on other forums it seems many people have quit Obduction over an inability to complete the Maze.

The rotation of the disks seems to be at the same 90 degrees as the maze rotation but I need to rotate them 45 degrees to align all the parts. I have tried swapping pieces that look similar but it does not fix this issue. Is there some kind of adjustment that I missed? Is my game bugged? I quit trying a few months ago and just came back to try again. This is not fum.

If you want the solution, you could watch Sven Groot's (Dilandau3000) Let's Plays - he's just posted the episode for the Maze https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7On-6pbMPWk

Thanks for the link. I had already watched his video and liked it a lot. However, he was just as surprised as I was when the angle piece fell into place. He too found it odd that the angle piece didn't rotate at the same 90 degrees as the other parts. Eventually I did finish the maze, though it took about 6 or 7 tries swapping out each piece that need it. The random element is not good and detracts from the logic of the puzzle.

There are no random results or 45-degree rotations in the gauntlet maze. Possibly you are misinterpreting the situation, but once you understand it all the moves follow the rules.
