Weird Sky in Soria

Postby wstrohm » Tue Jan 31, 2017 2:47 pm

After playing Obduction quite a few times, I got curious about what it looked like if the seed for traveling to Soria ("Mojang") from Hunrath were to remain in Hunrath, so I swapped it back to Hunrath and returned to Soria via tree root travel.
Sure enough, the piece of Hunrath in Soria was missing, but there was a very strange look to Soria's sky. Has anyone else ever checked that out? Why does the sky look like that? (This is the Mac version 1.4.2.)

Never went back to Soria to be honest. Certainly not by the seed. Can you post some screenshots?

I’ve been to Soria in both positions of the seed and don’t recall any difference in the sky. Screenshot request seconded.

I have JPG files of the Soria sky (with and without seed present) here on my desktop, but how do I upload them to this forum? My User Control Panel has a "Manage Attachments" listing, but it just says I haven't uploaded any. TRUE! Where is the control that allows that?

You have to upload them to an image hosting site like postimage.org Upload the file, and it will give you a bit of BBcode to paste into the forum.

Thanks, Magic88889! Here are two pics; the bottom pic taken with the seed in Soria, which looks "normal" to me, the top screenshot was taken with the seed back in Hunrath. The sky in the top pic "wavered" (hard to describe).

....that's really weird. I'm sure it's a glitch of some kind, just not sure why switching the seed would cause this.
Does this happen even if the Hunrath part is in Soria and you travel there via the tree? Maybe going there via the tree is the cause.

Seems to have been a one-time glitch, although I may not have reproduced the test conditions exactly. I pretty much duplicated my going to Soria via seed swap, then going back to Hunrath the same way, then going to Soria through the trees again, but now the sky looks normal. Oh well, at least now I know how to upload images: "it's Magic!"
