Pre-ordered on Steam, and I'm grabbing a day off from work. You betcha I'm playing. It's gotta tide me over until Obduction!

I’ve been looking forward to it, but this is not sounding very promising: :(

Is there a mac version of The Witness coming out?

We might be able to do one eventually but aren’t working on it right now.

We’ll see whether it turns out to be one of the rare gems of games that make me use Windows (so far that has only happened twice, for Uru and Portal), but considering my backlog of games it’s not likely soon.

Price tag is set a bit too high for what this game seems to be...The creator himself said this is a game that can be solved in a weekend..Not for me, thank you...I'll wait for Obduction...

Looks interesting, but I think I'll wait for it to come down in price. I have other games to choose from in the meantime.

So far, I'm enjoying it. I blow through some parts, then get stuck on something that turns out I was overthinking. Lots of plays to look into. Loads of nooks and crannies. Have found LOTS of sliders. Moved 'em all.

Ummm, yeah, that's a deal-breaker for me. :( :?

Meh... my mother bought Riven for $50 bucks back in 1998. Skyrim was $60 and ESO was $60 plus $15 a month (although luckily the monthly fee got nixed). $36 is not too hefty for a AAA game (which the Witness kind of is for the puzzle genre). I'd be surprised if Obduction was under $30 considering the Myst/Cyan name. Looking forward to playing this when I get home!

I've been playing The Witness almost non-stop since it came out, it's that good! (You could say...It became my world :D ) And in my opinion it's not expensive at all for what it is. There's a LOT to discover on that island. Couple of nods to Myst as well. In fact the whole island reminds me so much of Myst, it has that same surrealistic beauty.
The abstract puzzles and their difficulty have more in common with RHEM and Talos Principle than Myst though, but that's not a bad thing. There are also solutions that require elements from several locations, similar to learning D'ni numbers in Riven. The puzzles can be hard and sometimes require leaps of logic, but are never unfair in my opinion.
As far as story goes, there's none as far as I can tell, only some audio and video logs exploring the philosophy of religion/mysticism vs science/reason. Music is also absent but that grows on you as you wander around and take in the sounds of the island. It would interfere with the sound puzzles anyway!
I highly recommend the game, quality puzzle adventures of this size are rare.

I, too, am enjoying it..frustrating as some of the puzzles can be. There are hidden goodies in there as well.

Has anyone found
[Reveal] Spoiler:
the statue of a dog
or
[Reveal] Spoiler:
the statue of a young woman with a pallet, brush and easel
?

I'm donating half of that to Moul(a) THEN when it decides to be more reseaonable, I'll spend the other half to buy it.. In the mean time, I'll wait for Obduction...

Edited 2/10:
Broke down and bought it...but I did still donate to Moul(a)... :D

I'm about 80% way through the game right now, and have been really enjoying all of the hidden bits and pieces.
